McCoy’s Ninth-Inning Blast Not Enough in Chihuahuas’ 10–9 Loss
Box Score

El Paso’s bats produced 11 hits and drew 12 walks, but a late push came up short at Southwest University Park. Mason McCoy led off the ninth with his 10th homer to pull the Chihuahuas within one, but the rally stalled with the bases loaded.

The Chihuahuas opened with a two-run first when Yonathan Perlaza singled and later scored on Nate Mondou’s two-run knock. Tim Locastro’s solo shot in the second tied the game at three, and Perlaza’s RBI double later in the inning briefly put El Paso ahead.

Oklahoma City surged in front with four homers over the next two innings, but El Paso answered in the fourth. Rodolfo Durán singled, Locastro doubled, and Tyler Wade lined a two-run single. Mondou’s groundout later in the frame cut the deficit to one.

Mondou reached three times, drove in four, and scored once. Perlaza doubled, singled, walked three times, and scored twice. Will Wagner also reached four times, scored twice, and swiped a base. McCoy homered, walked, and scored twice, while Durán singled and walked.

On the mound, Jackson Wolf went 3 1/3 innings before Raul Brito, Bryan Hoeing, Harold Chirino, and Alek Jacob worked in relief. Jacob tossed a scoreless ninth to give the offense a chance, but the Chihuahuas stranded the bases loaded to end the game.

Missions Shut Out in 2–0 Loss at Wolff Stadium
Box Score

San Antonio’s offense managed only four hits and could not break through, falling 2–0 at Nelson Wolff Stadium.

The Cardinals plated both of their runs in the second inning. After a walk and a single put two aboard, a fielder’s choice combined with a fielding error at second base allowed two runs to score. Missions starter Eric Yost limited further damage across six innings, striking out five while issuing three walks.

Albert Fabian had a single, while Marcos Castañon added a hit and drew a walk. Wyatt Hoffman and Oswaldo Linares each singled, and Anthony Vilar reached base once via a walk. The Missions had a promising chance in the eighth when Linares and Hoffman reached with one out, but a sacrifice bunt and a hit-by-pitch loaded the bases before Francisco Acuna lined out to center to end the frame.

Relievers Andrew Moore and Stephen Jones combined for three scoreless innings, striking out four without allowing an extra-base hit. Moore navigated the seventh, and Jones faced the minimum over his one inning of work, aided by a double play.

Despite a ninth-inning single from Fabian, the Missions could not mount a final rally, grounding into their third double play of the night to end the game.

TinCaps’ Late Lead Slips in 8–5 Loss
Box Score

Fort Wayne was tied 4-4 heading into the bottom of the eighth but couldn’t hold on, as South Bend scored four runs in the frame to hand the TinCaps an 8–5 defeat at Four Winds Field.

Braedon Karpathios put Fort Wayne ahead in the third with an RBI single, and Brendan Durfee’s sacrifice fly in the fourth reclaimed the lead after the Cubs had tied it. Jonathan Vastine walked to start the seventh, Kai Roberts delivered an RBI single, and Ryan Jackson’s sacrifice fly tied the game at 4–4.

The bottom of the eighth unraveled after an error and a walk set the stage for Rafael Morel’s bunt single. Leonel Espinoza’s two-run knock put South Bend ahead, Cristian Hernandez added a sacrifice fly, and Ariel Armas singled home another run.

Isaiah Lowe worked five innings, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks, striking out four. Bodi Rascon and Nick Wissman followed, pitching three innings combined. Karpathios and King went 2-for-4 and 2-for-5 respectively, while Roberts and Jack Costello chipped in two hits apiece.

McCoy’s Late Homer Not Enough as Storm Fall, 9–3
Box Score

Lake Elsinore’s bats were quiet until the late innings, falling 9–3 to Rancho Cucamonga at LoanMart Field.

The Quakes struck early, scoring three in the third and fourth. Maikel Miralles allowed six runs over three-plus innings, with Braian Salazar and Bernard Jose combining to surrender three more across the middle frames.

The Storm’s lone early highlight came in the seventh when Alex McCoy tripled to right and Yoiber Ocopio doubled him home. In the ninth, Kavares Tears drew a leadoff walk and McCoy followed with a two-run homer to center, his fourth of the season.

McCoy finished 2-for-4 with a triple, homer, and two RBIs, while Ocopio doubled, walked, and drove in a run. Cardell Thibodeaux added a single, and Dylan Grego also had a hit.
