Steve Drumwright Padres Mission Editor Posted July 23 Posted July 23 While he didn't fit with the San Diego Padres anymore, Ron Marinaccio has found a new home. The Padres on Thursday traded the right-handed reliever to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for international signing bonus money. According to MLB insider Francys Romero, the Padres received $500,000. Marinaccio was designated for assignment by the Padres on Sunday. The 31-year-old, dealt from the Chicago White Sox in January 2025 after he was DFA'd for cash, had a 5.32 FIP (4.79 ERA) in 33 appearances with an 8.9% walk rate and 18.7% strikeout rate this season.
