TinCaps Blitzed Early, Get Smoked By Dragons
The host High-A Fort Wayne TinCaps were buried by an early avalanche of runs en route to dropping a 22-8 setback at the hands of the Dayton Dragons. Dayton, which hit six homers in the game, scored five runs in the first inning and eight in the second. The 22 runs allowed were the most in TinCaps history.
Alex McCoy, Justin DeCriscio and Lamar King Jr. each homered for the TinCaps, with King's being a three-run blast and McCoy and DeCriscio hitting solo shots. DeCriscio, McCoy, Jake Cunningham, Jack Costello and Oswaldo Linares each had two hits and King was the only player who drove in multiple runs.
TinCaps right-handed starter Maikel Miralles gave up eight runs in 1⅔ innings, walking five and allowing two hits with no strikeouts. Right-handed reliever Ty Adcock, on the Padres' 40-man roster and assigned to Triple-A, made his first rehab appearance since a spring training oblique injury, allowing two runs on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in one inning.

Jesus Castro Fans 6, But Fateful 4-Run Inning Costs Storm
Right-handed starter Jesus Castro turned in his second straight shutout performance, but one bad inning doomed the Low-A Lake Elsinore Storm in a 6-3 loss to the Visalia Rawhide.
Castro struck out six in four shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks. That follows 5⅔ shutout innings in his start last week vs. Rancho Cucamonga in which he struck out nine. Castro has 22 strikeouts over 15⅓ innings in his last three starts.
But the Rawhide scored four runs in the fifth inning off left-handed reliever Joseph Herrera, who didn't retire any of the five batters he faced, walking two, allowing two hits and hitting another as Visalia took a 4-1 lead. After the Storm scored in the top of the sixth, the Rawhide added two more in the seventh.
Jose Verdugo hit a solo homer in the eighth inning for the Storm. He also doubled and scored on Truitt Madonna's sixth-inning single. Bradley Frye had an RBI groundout in the top of the third. Madonna had three hits.
