Walker Buehler Placed On Paternity List By Padres

Shortly after announcing their 26-man roster for the NL Division Series, the San Diego Padres revealed a change.

Right-hander Walker Buehler, who had been in consideration to start Game 1, went on the paternity list before Saturday's opener against the Milwaukee Brewers. Right-hander Randy Vasquez was added to the roster in Buehler's place.

The paternity list allows for a player to be away from the team for up to three days. That would mean Buehler could rejoin the team in time for Game 3 back at Petco Park.

Buehler's wife, McKenzie, was expected to give birth to the couple's second child Saturday.
