Padres Reportedly Reject Adrian Morejon Deal For Yankees' Will Warren

Maybe the San Diego Padres are going to hold onto valuable left-handed reliever Adrian Morejon.

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, whose accuracy on breaking news can be questioned as much as an ABS challenge is made, reported Sunday that the Padres rejected a deal with the New York Yankees that would have brought right-handed starter Will Warren to San Diego.

No other details were given, whether it was a one-for-one deal or other pieces might have been involved, but it would have been an ideal trade for the Padres from one aspect, but not from another.

Morejon is one of the top left-handed relievers in MLB, while the 27-year-old Warren has a 3.96 FIP (4.14 ERA) in 22 starts over 108⅔ innings with a 7.6% walk rate and 23% strikeout rate this year.
